FAQ
Do handyman services cost less than general contractors?
Yes! Sometimes a handyman is a cheaper option than a general contractor. This is especially true for those who have never had a contractor do a job. Because they have the expertise to complete certain tasks more quickly and efficiently, a handyman can speed up the project's completion.
Why should I hire someone to do the job instead of doing it myself.
It's a great way to save time and money by hiring a handyman. You don't have to hire someone else and it saves you the time and effort of doing the job right the first go. You can also hire a handyman who has the right equipment and supplies to do the job right.
Can a handyman put in new fixtures or appliances for me?
These types of projects can be done by a handyman. It is important to know the exact type of appliance or fixture that you are installing before you begin.
Can a handyman give me suggestions for how to improve my home's condition?
Absolutely! Handyman training is in all areas of home repairs and maintenance. A handyman knows what to fix and what not. Don't be afraid to ask for help whenever you need it.

How to replace a broken window
Repairing broken windows is one the most common home improvement jobs. The task consists of repairing damage caused to the glass inside your house. Repairs should take about 30 minutes in this situation. You could end up causing more damage to your house if you don't know the best way to replace a damaged pane. This article offers some useful tips to replace a broken window.
First, take the old glasses out of their frames
First, remove all screws that hold the glass in place. Next, remove the lock at the top of the lower section of your window frame. Next, move the window up slightly to remove it from the sill plate (the bar that runs below the floor). Use a plier to loosen any remaining screws. After the panes are taken off, thoroughly clean them.
Second step: Clean the new glass
You can wipe any dirt off the glass surface with a towel or a dry cloth. A spray bottle filled with water, rubbing alcohol and water can be used to clean debris stuck beneath the glass.
Step 3: Install the new glass
Attach the window frames to the panes. Use a screwdriver to push the outermost edge of your pane down. Gently push your pane back into its opening. After moving to the next one, push it firmly against your previous one before you reattach it. Continue inserting the panes till the window is complete. Seal the area where the panes meet with silicone caulk gun.
Fourth step: Repair any damage.
When installing the new glass, inspect the area around the hole to determine whether any additional repairs are needed. Install two pieces of small wood on each side of any hole if the break was near the corner. These wooden blocks will add strength to the window while also acting as spacers to keep the glass in place during the expansion and contraction of the weatherproofing material.
The fifth step is to seal the area.
After the glass has been replaced, apply a bead of silicone caulking to the perimeter edges of the window frame. This will create an excellent seal between the glass & the surrounding wallboard. Silicone caulking can be purchased at hardware stores and online. Make sure you choose a color that is consistent with the wall's existing paint.
Allow the caulking to cure overnight. You should not disturb the caulking after it has fully hardened. You can cause cracking in the caulking if it isn't left enough time.
